but my history - I was present in kickboxing (american boxing), a little bit in muay thai, (english) boxing, and when I was child in karate. I am active in savate (french boxing) now for 5 years. And I can say - no combat sport filled me with so many new things like savate.


I like educating system in savate because in all styles I trained before I didn`t see a book - how to teach and especially why are the thing we teach like this. Let`s say scientific approach against traditionalism of one big authority. ))

Slovenian people - the same like Czech people - we dont like to much pressure. My mother was in Prague (on honeymoon) just 3 days before invasion to Czecho-Slovakia was done.

So, I think this time I give some answers? Please - if I wasnt so precise - correct me and I can return new answers - more detailed.

I dont know why savate is not so present with many fighters in Czech - but I can say - that maybe these days some group will see the advantages of these sports - where you can have very good educating system, huge variety of tournaments, a lot of knowledge and of course possibility to compete also in other systems.

Personally I think Slovenia Savate federation can easilly invite group of fighters from Czech country to our summer seminars at the sea like we did with Great Britain federation and German and Belgium, and Hungarian and Serb federation.
We can introduce this group the basis of savate and we are willing to come (in several hours) to your coutry to serve you with all details and additional seminars you want. After all these years we can do it.

We are not obssessed only with savate and we have eyes turned also on other approaches to different fighting styles we practice as additional trainings and tournaments.

You can see on these pictures that we work also with total begginers and on the other hand with skilled fighters.

I think Czech language is very similar language to Slovenian. Some history facts talks about one nation during Veneti times - Karantania (Carinthia).

So very welcome to Slovenia if you decide for younger group of enthusiasts from Adriatic region and (Alpe-adria) part of EU.

I think every cooperation is very good. We cooperate also with Mr. Vorkapic from Slovenia Muay Thai - who has licence for K1 and S1 tournaments. Than we have conections to ISKA and other systems- for instance FederFIST from Italy.

La Boxe Francaise became a demonstration sport at the 1924 Paris Olympics. Its success prompted a promotional tour to London and in 1927 demonstrations were held at the famous Southwark boxing stadium, "The Ring". The team created a lot of interest, but English boxers protecting their own sport labelled the kicking fit for "women and sissies". This circulated about English sportsmen and destroyed its acceptance as a gentleman's sport. Further complicating its image was its vicious reputation with the French apaches (hooligans), gangsters and the streetkicking practises of the South and East Londoners. This adverse attitude towards kicking was nurtured throughout English speaking countries for some three decades before kicking as an athletic discipline started to gain acceptance.

Khider wins in K-1 Max in Japan

TOKYO , September 3, 2006 -- Andy Souwer, Albert Kraus and Buakaw Por Pramuk all won their bouts at the at K-1 World Max Champions' Challenge. Now in its second year, the Champions' Challenge is a one-match format event featuring previous K-1 World Max champions and emerging talent. All bouts are contested under K-1 Rules -- three three-minute rounds and a possible tiebreaker.

Japanese karate stylist Yuya Yamamoto took on Savateur Farid Khider of France in the following fight.

Some dandy spinning attacks, creative evasions and fancy footwork from the Frenchman, who also planted a couple of nice punches.

Yamamoto seemed unsure how to answer, and in the third stepped inside more.

There was some slugging, however more frequently the pair got deadlocked in the clinch.

Another majority decision here, in favor of Khider.

Penachhio plays (like cat wit mice) with Ramon Decker (elite competitor kickboxing, muay thai) - Ramon Decker falls on his butt several times. Just because of savate?
I respect Ramon Decker very much , but what is the advantage of Penachhio in this game?

Hi savate,
do you realy think Penachhio owned Ramon Dekker in that bout. No disrespect but I don´t think so. And I´ll tell you why. It´s apparent that he is under Dekker´s pressure most of the time. I saw no elbows and no knees consequently I assume the rules were kind of K-1 or something. Keep in mind Dekker is MT guy. Dekker proved he had much better hands and stronger kicks (especialy round-house kicks) that day. I have to admit I didn´t see the fight to the end (don´t have an outstanding internet connection). However it´s very challenging to claim Penachhio played the game of cat and mouse.

OK. I respect yor comment.But.....
When Pennacchio runs, he runs with his dog. And also he does recreational shooting with the gun. But in the fight he didn't use neither his dog and also not his gun.
The rules of this fight were clear. And Pennacchio didn't have shoes like in savate (not his rules). And he win anyway.
Ramon was several times (5 times or more?) on the ground.
The advantage of his fight is better tactics, and better moving. What is the use of strong kick, when kick don't make any effect? And also the damage on the face of Ramon you can see easily (with shoe - it could be worse).

If, if, if, if....if I have wings like batman I could fly...but the rules for me is to be earth creature.

In savate education is a lot of tactics - like in chess. Power of kick is just one of the elements ...but not the only one. And because of this complexity I love SAVATE very much.

Yes first time it was not very easy. ))
But now, I feel much more comfortable. ))

New approaches to athlets wear are oriented specialy in this way of using tight materials. For example Rugby teams, football players, runers, swimmers, they all use this dresses also K1 MAX winner - shootfighter from Holland Andy Sauver. And I think nothing wrong with this.
Why not if it is better?

This is Michael Giordani’s impressive victory in a World Muay Thai Federation bout over the North American champion, Ashley “Hands of Stone” Odd. Michael wins the WMTF North American belt in spectacular fashion using his Savate skills. He starts the match with a fouette to the guy’s head and then a tries a jumping spinning back kick just for fun. Ashley is no pushover and at one point unleashes a flurry of punches to try to trap Michael into a corner but Michael fights his way out. Then THE SAVATE HAPPENS!

but savate used soft and relaxed kicks known from its past development.
